This vision of a future summer just popped into my head and then out of my hand.

Exit Art asked my to do some drawings of their exhibition Love/War/Sex that will appear in their end of the year catalog. Here’s a couple of them:

This is the first installment of a three or four part “graphic essay” I’m illustrating for/collaborating on with media scholar McKenzie Wark. His books include “A Hacker Manifesto” and “Gamer Theory” among others. There are 8 pages to the comic and plenty of other ruminations for those interested in the Situationists.(click here)
Working for the Law Journal has turned me into a bit of a law geek. Did you know, for instance, that the 2nd amendment seems to have been intended to only apply to militias. But the Supreme Court may change that soon. Are you on the edge of your seat?

Cleaning out an overstuffed hard drive I came across this illustration for the National Law Journal about the Terry Shiavo incident. The article pointed out that the people who wanted to ensure that the right decision was made in that case showed no similar compunction when it came to the death penalty. What I like about this illu is how dependent it is on the color to make it work.
Well the signings and readings are winding down and it’s time to get back in the regular work rhythm. Consequently this site will transform from a Blindspot announcement site to a more general “what I’m up to” site. In that spirit, here’s an illu I did for the National Law Journal that I’m pretty happy with. I love when a simple graphic solution does the trick and a little more- in this case for an article about a state to state approach to gun control in the wake of the Virgina Tech shootings. What’s satisfying for me in this piece is how overlaying the gun with the red map produces a subtle, or maybe not so subtle, illusion to blood on the gun.
